Simpleday Font: How a Handwritten Script Transformed My Brand’s Look

I run a small candle-making business from my home studio. Every jar, label, and thank-you note is made by hand, and I want my brand to reflect that care. But for a long time, my packaging and social media visuals felt off. The fonts I used were either too plain or too fancy. I needed something that felt personal, yet professional—something that matched the warmth of my products without looking amateur.

That’s when I found Simpleday. At first glance, it looked like real handwriting—soft, natural, and expressive. But unlike casual scribbles, it had a clean structure and just the right amount of elegance. It wasn’t overly decorative, which made it perfect for a small brand like mine that wants to feel approachable but also trustworthy.

From Labels to Logos: A Font That Works Hard

One of the first places I used Simpleday was on my candle jar labels. Before, I used a basic sans serif font that looked okay, but didn’t stand out. Switching to Simpleday gave my product a more artisanal feel. The soft curves and flowing strokes matched the cozy, hand-poured nature of my candles. Customers started commenting on how “thoughtful” and “inviting” the new labels looked.

I also used it in my logo. I had been using a generic script font that came with my design software, but it lacked personality. With Simpleday, my logo felt more intentional—like a signature rather than a placeholder. It added a sense of craftsmanship that aligned with my brand values.

More Than Just Pretty Letters

Typography is more than just choosing a font that looks nice. It affects how people see your brand. A clean, well-chosen typeface can make your business feel more professional, consistent, and trustworthy. That’s exactly what Simpleday did for me—it helped me look like a brand that pays attention to the details.

It also improved readability in the right places. Since Simpleday is a display script font, I used it mainly for headlines, brand names, and short phrases. For longer text like product descriptions or ingredients, I paired it with a clean sans serif font. This contrast helped guide the viewer’s eye and made everything easier to read, especially on small candle labels and Instagram stories.

Where Simpleday Shines

I found that Simpleday works best in places where you want to add a personal touch without sacrificing polish. Here are a few of the ways I used it across my business:

Pairing for Balance

While Simpleday is beautiful on its own, it really shines when paired with other fonts. I used it with a modern sans serif for body text and captions. This combination kept my brand visuals dynamic but not overwhelming. For example, on my packaging, I used Simpleday for the product name and a clean sans serif for the scent description and ingredients. It made everything feel more organized and intentional.

For more elegant projects, like a seasonal candle collection, I paired Simpleday with a light serif font for a more refined look. The key was to keep the pairing simple—never more than two or three fonts per design—to maintain clarity and brand consistency.

Readability Tips for Real-World Use

When using a script font like Simpleday, size and spacing matter. On small labels or mobile screens, I made sure the text wasn’t too tiny. I also avoided using it in all caps or squeezing letters too close together, which can make it hard to read.

For printed packaging, I checked the font’s legibility at actual size before printing. I also made sure to use high-contrast colors—like black ink on white labels or white text on dark backgrounds—to ensure the script stood out clearly.

What to Check Before Using Simpleday

Before using any font in your business materials, it’s important to check the licensing. Simpleday is a commercial font, which means I could use it on product packaging, digital downloads, and marketing materials without legal concerns. That gave me peace of mind when designing my candle labels and social media templates.

I also made sure to download all available styles, including alternates and ligatures, which gave me more flexibility in design. The font came in multiple formats (like OTF and TTF), so I could use it in different design programs without any issues. Multilingual support was also a plus, in case I ever wanted to sell my products internationally.

Small Change, Big Impact

Switching to Simpleday wasn’t a dramatic overhaul, but it made a noticeable difference. My brand visuals felt more cohesive. My packaging looked more intentional. My social media posts felt more polished. And most importantly, my customers responded positively.

If you’re a small business owner or entrepreneur looking to elevate your brand’s look, don’t overlook the power of typography. A font like Simpleday can help you communicate warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail—all with just a few well-placed letters.
